Immersion Plating

In the process of immersion plating, the metal in the solution is mixed with nobler metal ions. Due to its noble or inert nature, those ions automatically pull towards the core metal. This forms a thin layer of plated metal on the core metal. However, immersion plating is a prolonged process.

The immersion plating is not long-lasting. The layer formed is thin and does not form a highly adhesive layer. Although it does increase conductivity and hardness, the process itself is unreliable.
